Parenting The Heart - Week 2

In the second message of our “Family Values” series, “Parent The Heart; In a Gospel-Centered Way,” we explore 14 key Gospel-centered principles that can reshape your perspective on parenting. These principles go beyond mere parenting tips—they are profound biblical truths that can guide and transform the way you raise your children. From understanding your high calling as a parent (Deuteronomy 6:4–9), to embracing grace as the foundation of your parenting (Ephesians 3:20–21), each principle encourages you to lean on God’s wisdom, rather than your own strength.

This sermon will teach you that while parenting is a journey of guidance, it is ultimately God who changes hearts (Romans 7:7, Psalm 51). You'll learn the importance of imparting both God’s law and grace, how to guide your children through their natural struggles with authority (Ephesians 6:1–4), and the necessity of character development in a world full of false gods (Exodus 20:3, Romans 1:25).

As you apply these truths, you'll be reminded of your need for rest and mercy in the midst of parenting challenges (Matthew 28:18–20, Hebrews 4:14–16). Though this process won’t make parenting easy, it will help you parent with a heart shaped by the gospel. And, more than that, these principles will impact every area of your life—your role as a friend, spouse, employee, and neighbor—helping you reflect Christ’s love and grace in everything you do.
