“I Love My Church Sunday: We Follow Jesus” is a powerful reminder that the heart of the church is not programs, personalities, or preferences—it’s Jesus. In a world full of distractions, we are called back to a simple but life-changing truth: we become what we behold. Hebrews 12:1–3 urges us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the One who began and completes our faith. Whatever consistently has our attention will ultimately shape our hearts, which is why following Him must be intentional.
This message highlights the freeing truth of Romans 8:1—there is now no condemnation for those who belong to Christ. Jesus took our condemnation so we could walk in grace. He sees people through the lens of redemption, never excusing sin, but never allowing failure to define a person’s future.
In John 13, we see the heart of Jesus on full display—the King who deserved a throne chose instead to pick up a towel. He modeled a life of humble service and called His followers to do the same. Healthy churches are built on this foundation: keeping Jesus at the center and choosing surrender over self.
Following Jesus isn’t passive. He didn’t say “attend me,” but “follow me.” True discipleship requires movement, transformation, and fruit. We don’t just admire Jesus—we imitate Him. While the world chases thrones, our King chose servanthood. As His church, we are called to reflect that same humility, grace, and love in everything we do.
