Jezebel; Not Every Voice Deserves a Platform - Week 6

Not all voices claiming authority are from God—and discernment is crucial. In this message, we confront the dangerous influence of Jezebel and the timeless warning her story carries for the Church today. When we listen to the wrong voice, we move in the wrong direction. The problem isn’t that there aren’t enough voices; it’s that there are too many. Not every word is His Word. Without discernment, we risk following charisma instead of character, emotion instead of truth, and manipulation instead of revelation.

In 1 Kings 18, Jezebel used her power to silence God’s prophets and replace truth with deception. A Jezebel spirit still thrives wherever God’s people stop discerning and start drifting. This isn’t about gender—it’s about anyone who uses manipulation instead of submission, control instead of calling.

Paul warned that false voices “must be silenced because they are disrupting whole households.” To guard the church, we must know the Word, guard our hearts, and discern how leaders lead. True authority flows from submission to God, not the seizing of control. Jezebel dominated; Deborah depended on God. One brought rebellion; the other led revival.

When we tolerate the wrong voice, we invite the wrong spirit—and it kills destiny. So ask yourself: whose voice has been the loudest in your life lately? The Jezebel spirit says, “Take control.” The Spirit of God says, “Trust Me.”
