In the sermon "A Place to Bless," part of the "I Love My Church" series, we reflect on the profound unity and generosity displayed by the early church, as described in Acts 2:42-47 (NLT). The believers devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. They lived with a deep sense of awe as they witnessed miraculous signs, shared everything they had, and joyfully and generously gave to those in need. This powerful example of community reminds us that the church is a place to belong, become, bless, bring, and be generous.
God has blessed each of us so that we can be a blessing to others. As saved people, we are called to serve people. There are four reasons why God wants us to bless, serve, and minister to others:
Every member is a minister (Ephesians 2:8-10).
Every ministry is important, even the seemingly least significant (1 Corinthians 12:18-22).
We are dependent on each other, as the body of Christ cannot function without all its parts.
Our ministry is an expression of how God uniquely made us, through our spiritual gifts, heart, abilities, personality, and experiences (SHAPE).
Join us as we discover how God calls us to bless others through our church.
