Serve Day

Serving others in our community is the heart of Innovation Church. With over 67% of the people in our community not following any religion or even having a relationship with God, our desire is to show the love of God to them in a variety of ways, not only through our Sunday services and connect groups, but through being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Back in 2019, we started doing Serve Sundays. Every time there was a 5th Sunday, we would go out in our community and serve others and organizations. From single moms/dads to mowing lawns, peeling wallpaper, painting, stuffing bags for veterans and so much more! We've been able to love on 100's of people in our community!

This year we are trying something a little bit different and trying out Serve Days. These will not be designated to just Sundays. Our first Serve Day opportunity is coming up on Saturday, March 2nd from 9am-2pm.

We will meet at Innovation to start out the day, starting with a light breakfast together followed by a quick devo and meeting with our team leads ( we will also get our FREE  Serve Day t-shirts) and then head out to our designated areas. 

Projects are: 

- Making breakfast and packing lunches for the teams that will be going out to serve (7am-10am)

- Making up snack bags for a DCS event at Monster Golf the following weekend (9-11am)  *kids are invited to help with this! 

- Making up bags full of basic care items and goodies for foster kids for The Villages Foster Agency here in Lafayette (12-2pm) *kids are invited to help with this!

- Cooking frozen meals for foster familes, relative placements, and caseworkers here in town

- Going out into the community to help paint, clean carpets and do repairs at some homes for local foster families and caseworkers
