In this sermon, we explore God’s original design for humanity and the consequences of veering off course. Just as breaking traffic laws brings penalties on your driver's license, disobedience to God's commands brings consequences—yet there's always hope for redemption.
We begin in Genesis 1:27-28, where God created us in His image, male and female, blessing us to be fruitful, multiply, and have dominion over the earth. God's original plan was for us to thrive, living confidently and growing in faith. But fear often hinders us from embracing this calling. It's time to step forward and fully live in God’s purpose for us, thriving in faith, love, and boldness.
In Genesis 2:5-25, we see God place Adam in the Garden of Eden with one rule: do not eat from the tree of knowledge. Adam and Eve were created for companionship, living in unity without sin or shame. This was God’s ideal for humanity—a life of freedom and trust. Yet, the serpent’s temptation led them to disobey, setting the stage for the Fall in Genesis 3:1-7, where sin and its consequences entered the world. Eve and Adam’s disobedience brings us the warning: never question God's Word.
Finally, we turn to Jesus Christ—the Lamb of God. Through His sacrifice, we find redemption from the penalty of sin. As we look toward 2025, we are invited to return to God’s original plan, living in grace and thriving in His will.
