At The Movies 2021 – Wk#1 – Bitterness ALWAYS Grows

Back to Sermon Notes

We are not meant to carry the weight of bitterness and anger, but we can trade them for freedom and peace.

Intro: Little Shop of Horrors recap

1. What is FED always GROWS – FEED ME SEYMORE!

John 14:2626But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.

Hebrews 12-14.-15 Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive the grace of God. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you, corrupting many.

2. The Forgiven that choose not to forgive.

Matthew 18:24–35

Eph 4:31Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. 32Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.

Our lack of forgiveness is why we choose to hold onto bitterness, letting it ripen into full grown resentment

Closing  – We scheduled communion but we’re not gonna take it. Because…

Matthew 5:23“So if you are presenting a sacrifice at the altar in the Temple and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, 24leave your sacrifice there at the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God.

James 5:16Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.
