Endurance Belize

How do you make a vision grow? The simple answer is you have to be willing to take the first step. That’s what we did with Endurance Belize Ministries. My wife Susie and I (Bryan) Burden came up with the concept and vision of starting a missionary program in Belize after visiting the country on a cruise in 2011. After praying about it and wondering why were we not moving on it, we finally said let’s do this in 2013. In 2014 we incorporated as a charitable LLC and we bought the property in Belize. It was a 4 acre Jungle with 288ft of Beachfront. When I mean Jungle I mean the real thing. Thick brush, trees, and plenty of wildlife. Needless to say it was overwhelming to think we would live there and build a facility for our missionaries to come to.
In 2015 we ventured to the property to begin clearing Jungle and building Cabanas to live in. Literally the first 6 weeks Susie and I lived in a tent. We slowly built the first 12×12 cabana and cleared every bush or tree that didn’t have a palm frawn on it.

We felt blessed that God placed some good people around us as a local pier builder, his workers, and their families began helping with the project more and more. By the end of the first 6 months we had nearly 3 acres cleared and 6 cabanas done. Our first missionary team came in to help finish the cabanas and add some music ministry to a local church.

In 2016 and 2017 we had 1 missionary group arrive each year. They helped rebuild a pier hit by a hurricane and did more construction work. In 2018 two groups came with the first ministering to locals and helping put in bathroom facilities on the property. The 2nd group got a few days in an orphanage and we spent a powerful day ministering to prisoners at the Belize prison with Pastor Scott Heighberger. There is a movie coming out this spring about Scott and his life going from prisoner to pastor. Yes some of our Innovation folks are in the movie. Go check it out if you can. Last year our first group from Innovation Church came to minister to 2 orphanages. This year another is planned for July 7 -14 July is our next trip to Belize. Get your passports now so you are ready to go in July. Orphanage work and maybe a day in the Belize prison are the focused mission plans. $1300 covers it all. Flight, food, a Cabana on the beach to live in for the week. Paradise needs God’s word and missionaries too.
